10 Hollywood hunks – and their shocking first jobs

Sure, these hunky Hollywood stars are living a glamorous life on the silver screen but it wasn’t always lights, camera, action. Before their big break, they had some pretty interesting first gigs.

1. Chris Hemsworth

Before becoming Thor, (and making a living from being every girl’s ultimate crush), Hemsworth paid the bills by cleaning breast pumps. “I worked for like a pharmacy that would rent out milk extractors, breast pumps, for pregnant women,” he shared. I wonder how he put that on his resume…

2. Brad Pitt

He may be one of Hollywood’s most coveted actors and Sexiest Man Alive but he wasn’t always leading with his impressive good looks. After dropping out of the University of Missouri, Pitt became the man in the chicken suit handing out promotional flyers, but that’s not all. Pitt told People Magazine about another gig, a chauffeur for strippers. “My job was to drive them to bachelor parties and things. I’d pick them up, and at the gig I’d collect the money, play some bad Prince tapes and catch the girls’ clothes.” How about a chicken dance Brad?

3. Johnny Depp

Before looting the high seas as Captain Jack Sparrows, Johnny Depp earned his living selling ballpoint pens. Thank heavens fellow acting pal, Nicolas Cage pushed him to give acting a try.

4. James Franco

Would you like to Supersize that? Before playing Harry Osborn or becoming an NYU professor, Franco spent his days serving up Big Macs and Chicken Nuggets at a McDonalds in LA. Let’s be thankful he opted out to drop out of hamburger university.

5. George Clooney

People Magazine’s two-time sexiest man alive wasn’t always gracing cover pages. After briefly pursuing his baseball dreams with a failed tryout for the Cincinnati Reds, Clooney resorted to becoming a shoe salesman. Somehow, I can’t picture Clooney measuring women’s feet. Let’s be thankful he opted to save lives on ER instead of saving soles.

6. Andrew Garfield

Before transforming into Peter Parker in the Amazing Spiderman, Garfield mastered caramel lattes, skinny mochas, and blended frappuccino’s as a Starbucks barista. (Friendly reminder: don’t forget to tip!) You never know when your barista may become your local superhero.

7. Chase Crawford

This handsome Texas native made the most of his good looks growing up. Before becoming infamous Nate on Gossip Girl, Crawford worked at Abercrombie & Fitch as a shirtless greeter and did some modeling for Hollister. Now that’s a guy spotting worth making the trip to the mall for.

8. Matthew McConaughey

While spending a year in Australia, McConaughey didn’t rely on his charisma or striking good looks to earn a living. Instead, he cleaned out chicken coops and washed dishes. Alright! Alright! Alright!

9. Hugh Jackman

The ultra-fit Wolverine didn’t always have a chance to show off his chiseled physique. While starting his career, Jackman was a clown at children’s parties. It’s rumored giggling was his best skill.

10. Ryan Gosling

He may have stolen our hearts as Noah in the Notebook and made us dance in La La Land but Ryan Gosling didn’t always have center stage. His first job was at age eight working as head of security for his uncle who was an Elvis impersonator. At least now we know where he learned some of his now famous dance moves.
