The coolest US offices in 2024

Inside the O Group, LA

Every year we take you on a whistle-stop tour of some of our favorite offices and we couldn’t be more excited to bring you our 2024 list. From beer bars to yoga rooms, and candy havens to Nerf armories, these offices are not just about work; they’re about having a lot of fun too.

We were so excited by the companies who’ve turned their workspaces into vibrant hubs of productivity and play, that we’ve scrapped our usual top 10 in favor of a top 11!

Here are 11 of our favorites!

The coolest offices in the US – 2024

Heineken

Who: The beer brand that invites you to “open your world”

Where: New York, New York

Why it’s cool: You know the saying, “It’s five o’clock somewhere?” Well, it’s always five o’clock at Heineken’s US HQ. With its full-service office bar, employees can enjoy a cold pint after work. With interactive digital screens, it’s a sports bar in their office.

There’s also an onsite cafe, for those who need libations of the sober variety and loads of fun-themed break-out rooms too.

Goop

Who: The company founded by Gwyneth Paltrow that sells some unusual candles

Where: Santa Monica, California

Why it’s cool: Did somebody say “om”? Goop’s HQ is all about wellness. With a yoga room, secluded lounge spaces, and cozy booths this is as much a space for working as it is a space for respite.

The space is as luxurious as you might expect, with softwood, light leather, and a lot of natural light. Plus, foodies will delight in the gorgeous Goop test kitchen!

Gecko Robotics

Who: The makers of wall-climbing robots

Where: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Why it’s cool: This is an office built with robots at the very heart. The office was planned around a 20,000-square-foot testing workshop so that employees and visitors alike are always reminded of the company’s mission. They can peek into the workshop from three sides!

As this is a large single-story office built for an expanding team, colleagues often use scooters to get from A to B.

Booking.com

Who: The travel giant

Where: New York, New York

Why it’s cool: Experience the joys of the Big Apple from the comfort of your office. All the breakout rooms at booking.com’s offices are themed after local streets and boroughs of NYC.

Graffiti art, murals, and window films all make this the most New York, of New York offices. Now pass us a coffee and a bagel!

Oppenheim Group

Who: The actual realtors from Netflix’s Selling Sunset

Where: LA, California

Why it’s cool: If you love all things glitz and glamour and have a really expensive taste then The O Group’s new office is lux, to say the least.

After ten years in business, Jason and Brett thought it was time for an upgrade, and man did they upgrade. The lavish space features a designer games table and a $40,000 shuffleboard table as well as loads of room for breakout spaces. Clearly, the design of their new office was heavily influenced by the luxury properties they sell on the show and we can’t wait to see them using it in the next season.

Where: Newark, New Jersey

Why it’s cool: If you’ve got a sweet tooth then why not work in a real-life world of Wonka? You won’t find any oompa-loompas or lickable and delectable walls but you will find unlimited free candy.

The office isn’t particularly exciting otherwise, but it’s a haven for chocoholics.

LinkedIn

Who: If Facebook was for professionals

Where: Sunnyvale, California

Why it’s cool: The build and design of LinkedIn’s new headquarters were halted due to the pandemic, but the result was worth the wait.

“The Garage” is their sleek new meeting space which harks back to the origins of many tech companies that were started in garages. It’s a dynamic space that can open up to the outdoors, allowing teammates to enjoy the warm California weather while they work.

Like most other tech companies, Sunnyvale is more than just an office, it’s a campus. With three gyms, an outdoor workout area, mothers’ rooms, mindfulness rooms, and treatment rooms for massages.

Shinesty

Who: The clothing brand that wants to force the world to take itself less seriously

Where: Denver, Colorado

Why it’s cool: Outlandish clothes brand Shinesty focuses on fun, and creating some of the most outlandish clothing the world has ever seen. Think the 80s, think neon, think weird.

With this in mind, this fast-growing online retailer needed an office that was loud like their clothes. That translated to a meeting room covered floor to ceiling in pink fur, and a purple foam-filled music room.

One thing is for sure, you’ll have to make sure your work outfits clash as much as possible.

Why it’s cool: Everything about this office has been thoughtfully put together. From the soundproof booths for private calls and respite from the hubbub of the daily grind to multiple kitchens so everyone can grab a bite to eat or a hot drink at their leisure.

As an added perk, this office space is dog-friendly too, so you can bring your pooches to work with you.

INK Games

Who: The first studio to pay the player

Where: Austin, Texas

Why it’s cool: Two words “Nerf armory”. This fun games studio has living plant walls, loads of cool murals, a fun outdoor space for a game of cornhole, and arcade games too!

We’re not sure how anyone gets any work done in this space that feels more adult playground than an office, but we’re sure INK Games’ cool space must get the creative juices flowing.

These companies have embraced a new era of office culture, where innovation is fueled by joy, collaboration thrives in unconventional spaces, and the mundane is replaced by the extraordinary. Whether you’re sipping a cold pint at Heineken’s in-office bar, practicing yoga at Goop’s wellness haven, or navigating the robot-filled halls of Gecko Robotics, one thing is clear – work can be fun, and fun can inspire remarkable work.

There’s substance as well as style with fully-equipped workshops and state-of-the-art sound, video, and animation studios.

Uber

Who: A range of services at your fingertips

Where: San Francisco, California

Why it’s cool: Uber has created a four-building campus in Mission Bay that’s focused on rest and relaxation as much as it is on work.

Dispersed throughout the buildings you will find quiet rooms, a wellness suite, a smoothie bar, snack rooms, and even a library. So whether you need to curl up with a good book, or spend time in a downward dog, your recharging needs are met.

It’s open-planned, fresh and modern, with plenty of natural light and a gorgeous outside space.

Pixar

Who: Home of the playful desk lamp

Where: Emeryville, California

Why it’s cool: The Pixar office screams fun. You’ll meet Nemo, Woody, and James P. Sullivan in unexpected places, and every office is customized to whatever you may desire, from a Western town to a Hawaiian home.

The place is also HUGE! Outside you’ll find a 600-seat amphitheater, a soccer field, an organic vegetable garden, and a wildflower meadow.

Neo-Pangea

Who: Eccentric digital studio

Where: West Reading, Pennsylvania

Why it’s cool: Is this an office or a palace of innovation? Who knows! Neo-Pangea’s company brand is steeped in Victoriana and to remain true to their brand, their office space is the same. With old books, leather, and dark wood, this is an office with style.

Inspired by virtual backgrounds over the pandemic, the team recently created various themed meeting pods. Fancy taking a video call in a space pod? There’s a space for that. They even have their servers in an old bank vault!

Casper

Who: The dreamy sleep company

Where: New York City, New York

Why it’s cool: Probably one of the coziest offices around, the new Casper office is like stepping into a cloud.

With soft angles, padded walls, muted tones, and of course some very comfy-looking beds, we wonder if Casper employees had it quite so nice when they were working from home.

If you’re looking for bedroom decor inspiration, this is the office you should be checking out!

Crunchyroll

Who: The world’s largest anime streaming and production company

Where: San Francisco, California

Everything reflects the company and what they do.

Parliament Design

Who: A design agency for adventurous brands

Where: Portland, Oregon

Why it’s cool: This is an upcycler’s dream! A lot of the material used to create this office space has been reclaimed and recycled. From old street signs to a salvaged pizza oven the design is super clever.

There aren’t loads of additional extras but this is definitely a super cool and functional space that’s more alpine lodge than design agency.

Blurring the lines between work and play, this becomes a place that locals can enjoy too on tours and open bar evenings.

Why it’s cool: Before creating their mammoth campus, Urban Outfitters staff were spread across six office locations in Philadelphia. Their truly epic campus is now in a long-neglected old navy yard incorporating its industrial past into the design.

We love how they’ve incorporated loads of greenery into the design and the huge windows mean loads of light.

The location too, right on the Delaware river, means that the views are truly spectacular.

Where: San Jose, California

Why it’s cool: Adobe has been in the same offices for nearly thirty years but recently gave their offices a huge facelift. The new look includes a nature-inspired cafe, inspired by when Silicon Valley used to just be orchards.

The design incorporates loads of incredible wall art inspired by the world around us, even with some wall art representing sound waves.

What’s so impressive though is the green accolades this office has. In 2006 these offices were awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification by the United State Green Building Council for environmental sustainability. Adobe has definitely been leading the way for other tech giants to follow!
