The top three states with the most IT vacancies are California, Texas and Massachusetts with 44,391, 26,780 and 18,529 vacancies respectively. Virginia comes in fourth place with 18,180 vacancies and Pennsylvania and New York follow with around 16,000 vacancies. The states which have the least amount of IT vacancies are Wyoming, Vermont, and Louisiana.
Hereinafter is an overview of the highest vacancies in counties among the top 5 states aforementioned. The county with the highest IT vacancies was Fairfax County in Virginia, with 8,007 vacancies. In second place is Santa Clara County in California with a total of 7,835 vacancies. This is unsurprising because Santa Clara County is the county for the city of San Jose, a major technology hub in California. Los Angeles County and Middlesex County came in third and fourth, due to containing the large modern cities of LA and Boston.
