EWI accelerates manufacturing innovation by integrating its deep technical expertise with different layers of the manufacturing ecosystem. Our core is our technical experts: a group of highly engaged, entrepreneurial individuals who work in a collaborative and dynamic environment. We strive to make impact through a variety of platforms including confidential work for individual manufacturers, working with consortia to solve cross cutting manufacturing challenges, and through global initiatives, such as the ASTM AM Center of Excellence. We work with a diverse range of manufacturing sectors including aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, and consumer goods, as well as small, medium, and large manufacturers.



We are currently seeking a Project Manager to plan, lead and manage teams through project proposals and project execution. This individual will be accountable to lead the overall planning, scoping and risk identification and risk management efforts. He or she holds responsibility for properly identifying resources and managing internal project teams as well as external delivery partners through proposal and execution of projects to completion in scope and in budget. This person must have strong client communication skills and relationship management experience to manage a sizable project portfolio.







RESPONSIBILITIES:





Project planning, gathering of estimates, execution to budget and schedule, administration and documentation



Facilitate planning sessions and project reviews



Compile, analyze, and present project metrics



Communicate with key stakeholders, clients, project team, and management team



Engage with customers to explore and understand needs for manufacturing and innovation and nurture relationships with high-potential accounts to develop and prioritize customer development opportunities



Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and managers to achieve project objectives



Work with and support engineering managers, technicians, and engineers across other disciplines in the organization



Lead continuous improvement activity in project proposals, project executions as well as other identified areas through lessons learned and similar techniques



Stay current with project management trends and recommend process improvements



Support development of qualitative tools and software to improve and optimize project delivery



Actively seek-out various educational and training opportunities to keep current and demonstrate continuous growth



Additional support as part of being a flexible team member in a growing organization









SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:





Demonstrated proficiency in Principles of PMP



Knowledgeable and proficient in Typical Waterfall Gantt Project Management and the tools (Software & Documents)



Working knowledge of principles of Agile/Scrum and the tools (Software and Practice)



Managed Research and Development projects, Technology Development, Solution/Product Development as well as some production environment experience



Skillful in managing and delivering proposals, reports, presentations, white papers, etc.



Able to work with small teams and flex into content creation when needed



Demonstrated working knowledge of risk mitigation, collecting, and applying lessons learned



Effectively manage a project portfolio of >$5M average/year



Excellent customer facing skill set with ability to work with potential clients to develop technical work scopes for incorporation into project proposals



Exercises initiative and creativity to complete projects within the project scope



Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a highly team-oriented environment



Proven ability to function in a fast-paced, project-based, environment with a demonstrated passion for learning new technologies



Exhibits proficient written and verbal communication with customers both internal and external



Willingness to travel periodically (10-15%) to customers and conferences



Strong ability and experience in driving business results through others (even without direct management authority), setting clear expectations, and holding accountable parties to commitments and expectations while enabling success and being supportive









PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:





Office environment and laboratory/light production floor with ventilation, climate-control system, moderate lighting, and moderate noise level;



Use finger and hand dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, grip, manipulate, and measure;



Use vision to see, analyze, and adjust;



Periodically move, transport, rotate, reach, pull, twist, adjust position, push, stand, stoop, bend and crouch; and



Lift ten to 10 pounds on a frequent basis and 40 to 80 pounds occasionally









EDUCATION:





Bachelor s degree in an engineering discipline with PMP experience



PMP Certification, Agile/Scrum Certification and/or MBA a plus









EXPERIENCE:





Seven (7) or more years of Project/Program Management



Experience a field related to Additive Manufacturing such as welding engineering, nondestructive testing (NDT), structural/fatigue mechanics, materials science, and powder metallurgy considered a plus



Component and/or System Level Design Experience a plus
