Role Summary:The Advanced Technology Sourcing Buyer is responsible for introducing future technologies and engine programs through the development, design, and build process. This organization has recently expanded our responsibilities to include: Tooling, Labor & Engineering and IT for military programs. You will need to have a strong knowledge and understanding of sourcing policies and procedures to achieve a compliant purchase order placement while also achieving customer requirements.
+ Apply sourcing policies and procedures across supply base
+ Execute against Growth Playbook objectives (GE / commodity / supplier level)
+ Understand the strategy of the supply base to drive suppliers to achieve GE's desired outcomes
+ Interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications, delivery and test schedules
+ Work with customers to help meet budget targets
+ Manage contracts to drive adoption of optimal terms and conditions
+ Work closely with suppliers on amendments for Concurrent Product Development (CPD) in support of the customer's requirements
+ Strategically develop suppliers who will be new to working production procurements
+ Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects
+ Engage in continuous improvement activities and manage part aggregation and indirect spend
+ Manage source changes & new product introduction through approval process
+ Actively participate in supplier performance reviews and drive supplier qualification success
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain)
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain or manufacturing
+ Previous Buying / Procurement experience
+ Ability and Willingness to get military clearance if needed
+ Strong background in contract negotiation
+ Ability to analyze data and perform pricing analysis
+ Experience with strategic sourcing of new suppliers / vendors
+ Ability to influence others and lead small teams
+ Effective problem identification and solution skills
+ Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously and effectively
