UofL Health- Peace Hospital is currently hiring for a Part Time 7a-7p Mental Health Tech on 3 South. This position rotates and work every 3rd weekend.

We are one of the country’s largest private, non-profit psychiatric/mental health hospitals with a total of 220 beds. The facility offers the most comprehensive array of psychiatric treatment and substance abuse services in the state, including specialized programs and services along the full continuum of care, including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming for all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults. 3 South works with pediatric/adolescent patients from ages 12-18 with MR/DD. These adolescent patients often have a developmental disability, autism, brain injuries, fetal alcohol syndrome or some other behavioral issue. They often require assistance with ADL’s.

Mental Health Tech: Provides delegated components of nursing care to patients including monitoring, specimen collection, psycho-education, assistance with activities of daily living and behavior management in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures. Care provided is based on defined standards of patient care and practice.

Minimum Requirements for Mental Health Tech 1:

High School Diploma or GED and

1 year social services experience required.


15 college credit hours required.

Minimum Requirements for Mental Health Tech 2:

2 years of social services experience with 1 year in direct patient care experience required.


If 60 college credit hours, 1 year of direct patient care experience required.


If Bachelor’s degree in social services field, direct patient care experience preferred.
