As a key member of Apothecare?s management team, the Director of Sales and Business Development is responsible for retention and expansion of existing business as well as functioning as the key points of contact for ensuring customer satisfaction. Candidate will work closely with the operational team to ensure that customer issues are addressed and resolved as well as identify and develop operational procedures or implement technologies which enhance the customer experience. The Director of Sales and Business Development is responsible for ensuring that Apothecare customers achieve their desired outcomes. The Director of Sales and Business Developments goals will be assessed annually in conjunction with the company?s growth plan.

Director of Sales and Business Development Responsibilities

  • Partner with operations leadership on growth and retention strategies
  • Direct supervision of field customer service representatives and support
  • Provide support in resolution of complex client issues and requests, as well as assessment of client needs to expand existing business
  • Provide support for operations and field representatives with client presentations, business plans, identification of at-risk accounts and development of associated action plans
  • Function as lead customer liaison for clients serviced by Apothecare
  • Work closely with operations to deliver additional value to the customers we serve
  • Educate facility staff regarding pharmacy policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Identify growth opportunities via marketing (new business) and/or expansion of Apothecare?s offering (new lines of business and/or customers types)
  • Coordinate MAP (Medication Assessment Program) training for MAP certified facilities serviced by Apothecare
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with the pharmacy operations and field customer service representatives, new customer implementation via a shared project plan
  • Implement and manage Apothecare?s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
  • Maintain and update customer training procedures manual to include each pharmacy area impacting the customer
  • Build strong relationships with key client partners through a consultative approach to fully understand their needs and develop pro-active solutions
  • Evaluate regulatory compliance requirements and determine education needs for our clients as it relates to pharmacy services
  • Coordinate and/or conduct quality assurance audits to aid clients with preparation for regulatory inspections

Director of Sales and Business Development Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s Degree Required.
  • Must have basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • 3+ years of prior sales/customer support experience in a healthcare-related field, preferably pharmacy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proven project and time management skills.
