Systems Administrator III NAVFAC AT/FP GSC Washington Navy Yard

As the NAVFAC AT/FP GSC Systems Administrator III at the Washington Navy Yard, D.C., you will support the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Ashore Program’s mission to design, procure, integrate, install and sustain the systems/equipment hardware, associated firmware, and software required to provide the ability to protect mission-critical assets and personnel from natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other human-caused disasters.

The NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Sustainment Program is executed by the NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Program Management Office (PMO), NAVFAC Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC), and NAVFAC regional Facilities Engineering Commands (FECs). The primary goal of the NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Sustainment Program is to provide both preventive and corrective maintenance services to Navy installations as required to sustain NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Program Systems in accordance with their operational requirements. In support of this effort the Systems Administrator III will be responsible for any of the below listed activities.

This position is based out of Washington, D.C. and will require up to 10% travel and you will perform the following duties:

  • Install new software releases and system upgrades
  • Evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems
  • Perform system backups and recovery
  • Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity
  • Provide critical preventive and corrective maintenance, information assurance, asset management, technical systems updates, service call resolution, and configuration management for C4I systems worldwide
  • Provide Operation and Maintenance support including patch management/testing, STIG implementation and mitigation, information assurance/security, anti-virus, and data backup solutions
  • Provide system administration and engineering support for Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Provide Oracle maintenance and DBA support

  • Must have a current and active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must have current IAT Level 2 (Security +) certification
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related area and a strong understanding of current Microsoft supported Windows operating systems
  • Must have 1 to 2 years of Oracle experience
  • Must have 2 to 4 years of working experience in the administration of Window’s Active Directory infrastructure to include Group Policy Object management experience, VMware ESXi server, data base solutions to include Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and teach or assist others to resolve Systems related issues
  • Must have the ability to create Standard Operating Procedure documentation for designs and implementation strategies of new hardware and software deployments
  • Must have the ability to produce system specifications, design requirements, test evaluation planning documents, and technical publications and reports
  • Must be able to support project at client sites where working conditions may vary
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%
  • Must have the willingness to take ownership of problems and see thru to resolution
  • Preferred candidate will be familiar with DoD networking and security accreditation requirements
  • Preferable experience: HBSS, eMASS, ACAS, SCAP, VRAM, DIACAP/RMF
