Southwest Medical, part of OptumCare , is a multi - specialty group of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants consisting of over 300 providers, 21 medical health centers including six urgent care clinics, four convenient care centers, two lifestyle centers catering to older adults, an outpatient surgery center, home health, hospice and palliative care services, plus E-visits and online options via Now Clinic telemedicine technology. Southwest Medical Pharmacy part of Optumcare provides durable medical equipment and infusion services to patients in their homes. Total Home Care also provides these services to patients residing in Assisted Living facilities and Residential Care settings under arrangement with the individual facility. Total Home Care's team of healthcare professionals and pharmacists focus on helping each patient reach a higher level of comfort, function and wellness. Whether short-term or long-term care is required, our services and products help provide opportunities for greater independence and quality of life.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter prescriptions and verifying appropriate information
- Coordinate deliveries
- Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve claims issues
- Process prescriptions (from intake to order completion)
- Resolve customer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided
- Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record
- Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
- Prepack bulk medicines, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and type and affix labels
- Answer telephones, responding to questions or requests
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs
- Price and file prescriptions that have been filled
- Establish or maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients
- Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, or supplies and enter inventory data into computer
- Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages
- Mix pharmaceutical preparations, according to written prescriptions
- Restock Pyxis machines

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Nevada
- 3 + years of Pharmacy related experience, in a Customer Service role
- Proficiency with computers using Windows PC applications in an office environment, and the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Open availability to work weekends, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- National certification as a Pharmacy Technician
- 2-3 years of IV Technician experience
- IV Certified
- Aseptic Technique Training
- Previous Home Infusion experience
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitor
- Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activity
