PURPOSE:

This position is accountable for the efficient management of the Injection Molding, Tooling and Maintenance departments. Works collaboratively with the Leadership team and Plant Manager.

The Operations Manager oversees management of Molding, Tooling and Maintenance to produce products that are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.

  2. Directs and monitors department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.

  3. Acts as a liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.

  4. Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate.

  5. Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.

  6. Maintains positive employee relations. Ensures recognition, training and corrective actions are taking place as required.

  7. Makes recommendations for more efficient methods of operation. Continuous Improvement initiatives.

  8. Determine proper utilization of workforce based on production demands

  9. Monitors production and labor efficiencies to ensure that Company standards are met and maintains proper production practices.

  10. Optimizes budget expenses to minimize the cost of operation consistent with productivity.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA Degree or 4 year technical degree in related discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process oriented operations and/or related industry
