The Childcare Teacher will work with the child care team to adapt and implement lesson plans. They will guide other staff to provide quality interactions, room environments, and educational programming in their room. They will provide classroom management and support training initiatives as they relate to programming. They will work within guidelines of all TKC policy and procedures. The Childcare Teacher will ensure the classroom is following best practice standards for a high-quality early childhood experience.

1. Provides exceptional customer service and quality care.
a. Seeks to provide professional and courteous service to the children and their families. Acts as a role model for other team members. Facilitates all classroom team members to provide this professional and courteous service.
b. Provides proposals and solutions to meet goals and work requirements. Participates in a team effort to fulfill area goals and work requirements.
c. Promotes and maintains confidentiality in all situations and interactions.
d. Provides guidance and supervision to team members regarding curriculum and teaching with a positive approach. Works as a team player and works effectively with minimal supervision.
e. Follows chain of command with questions/concerns.
2. Conducts sound teaching instruction and utilizes appropriate established guidelines for learning and lesson plans.
a. Utilizes age-appropriate guidelines and information to foster independence and advancement of developmental levels.
b. Refers inquiries to the appropriate resource and keeps Director and/or Program Coordinator informed in advance of all programming and curriculum needs.
c. Performs multiple tasks and can prioritize these tasks appropriately.
d. Able to be flexible with changes that occur throughout the day including staffing, children, employees and nursing care.
e. Handles emergent situations safely while remaining calm.
f. Reports situations, special needs, or problems of individual children immediately to Site DON or designee.

3. Documents appropriate information in a timely manner.
a. Performs data entry at the time care/direction/teaching is given.
b. Utilizes proper procedures for all care/direction.
c. Documents all communications with all members of the multidisciplinary team in the child’s medical
d. Uses dates, time and signatures appropriately on all documentation.
4. Maintains the following Room Leader responsibilities:
a. Implements the daily program, curriculum and lesson plan for the assigned classroom.
b. Ensures engagement between staff and children during play and other activities.
c. Works with child care team to adapt and implement lesson plans and guide classroom management.
d. Prepares materials for implementation of curriculum in advance.
e. Ensures a working schedule is written and implemented for the classroom.
f. Communicates professionally with children, families, and co-workers.
g. Coordinates all instruction for the children as directed by the physician, parent, therapist, or
Individual Education Plan (IEP) according to the plan of treatment and care plans.
h. Reports conditions and learning needs of the child to all team members, supervisors, and family.
i. Ensures all educational and instruction judgments are made based on holistic aspects of care of the
child. Identifies any needs of the child and family.
j. Fosters the family and child to achieve independence.
k. Seeks advice and assistance if needed.
l. Maximizes inclusion activities/programs for each child focusing on social skills and behavior needs
while coordinating educational goals with nursing goals.
m. Manages custodial care of children.
5. Maintains professional responsibilities to stay up to date regarding The Kidz Club and all relevant Educational
or medical education.
a. Keeps current in the affairs of The Kidz Club through staff meetings and designated communications.
b. Ensures engagement between staff and children during play and other activities.
c. Attends regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.
d. Attends in-service education including center specific nursing in-services, TKC corporate in-services
and additional in-services to learn new procedures, applications, and updates.
6. Follows all policy and procedures implemented by The Kidz Club as applicable to the job or duties assigned
and in relation to the employee handbook.
7. Maintains a current certification in basic life support.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Site Director of Nursing.

Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written in a clear, concise and easily understood manner. Child
Care and/or Pediatric experience preferred. Exhibit leadership and organization skills. Must be able to multi-task and perform as a foundational team member. Current negative Tuberculosis skin test (PDD) required. Current CPR (Basic Life Support) required.
