LOCATION: Paiute Palace Casino, Bishop CA RESPONSIBLE TO: Table Games Manager
Works variable shifts as assigned by the supervisor. Will greet and welcome customers assisting in whatever way necessary to create goodwill and a friendly attitude. This position supervises the administration of table games in progress and resolve any problems that may arise between dealer and player while games are in progress. Will assist with the various duties and responsibilities of the Table Games Manager as necessary. Applicant should be aware that the Paiute Palace Casino is not a smoke free environment.
  • Must know and be able to supervise and train personnel for Paiute Palace 21, Poker, and other table games as required. Must be willing to enforce and abide by all established procedures and ordinances.
  • Opens and closes tables using established procedures.
  • Makes table fills and credits using established procedures.
  • Trains and substitutes for dealers when the need or occasion arises.
  • Must practice positive customer and employee relation?s techniques.
  • An excellent appearance is dictated and demanded at all times. Must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly and courteous.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift including splits, evenings, weekends and holidays according to established procedures.
  • Poor attendance or a poor attitude will not be tolerated. Must be cooperative with all departments assisting wherever necessary.
  • Ensure that rules and laws applicable to the gaming operation are effectively enforced by direct compliance and reporting violations to appropriate authorities as necessary. Must be knowledgeable of all Gaming policies and procedures and enforce and abide by those procedures.
  • Help keep casino neat and clean. Employee will assist in enforcement of casino cleanliness policy by picking up trash and depositing it in receptacle and assisting in the cleaning policy as directed by the Supervisor. All casino employees are responsible for the cleanliness of the casino. Helps ensure the pit area is neat and clean.
  • All other casino related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • High school diploma, or GED is required. Education beyond high school, military and job related experience would take precedence in selection.
  • Must meet requirements to qualify for a Paiute Palace Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background security check. Can have no felony convictions and no serious misdemeanor convictions.
  • Ability to inform and communicate orally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations is required. Ability to process information effectively, to learn new procedures and identify and define problems and to make decisions is required.

  • Thorough knowledge of standard and accepted (blackjack and other card game) methods and procedures is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess the ability to interact with the public, fellow employees, tribal enterprises, and county and state agencies demonstrating respect, tact, courtesy, objectivity, and maturity to develop an effective and cooperative working relationship.
  • Ability and willingness to attend additional training is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Must possess demonstrated mathematical ability.
  • Must be in good physical condition, have good manual dexterity and be able to
stand for long periods of time.
  • Must possess a driver?s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must maintain a home telephone number for immediate contact.

If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within thirty (30) days, which can be completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail to meet the agreed upon formal training program will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as scheduled.
A drug test will be required prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
