The Cook serves an important role as an assistant for all dietary functions. Under the supervision of the Dining Director the Cook will handle and deliver food services in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Prepare meals and snacks for residents in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as established procedures
Serve meals and snacks in accordance with approved menu spreadsheets in a palatable and appetizing manner
Serve meals in accordance with established portion control procedures
Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties and in accordance with established facility procedures
Report all hazardous conditions and broken equipment to the Dietary Director
Maintain food storage areas including refrigerators and freezers in a clean and sanitary manner
Report food complaints and suggestions to the Dietary Director
Perform other job-related duties as required
Long-term care experience preferred
Experience in handling food services
