Lead Cloud Architect - Financial Services Cloud

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM is seeking a Lead Cloud Architect with deep Financial Services expertise to join our team in North America. In this role, you will help develop a catalog of pro-forma architectures that bring out the best of IBM and our Financial Services Cloud ecosystem to assist our customers with Digital Transformation of their business processes and application modernization to cloud. You will define target application architectures and migration strategies for our clients. You will advise our clients to identify the right strategy and modernize their legacy applications using modern cloud native architectures with container platforms and cloud services. In addition, as the Lead Cloud Architect, you will be performing team management and workflow assignment. You will be responsible for team performance, quality of deliverables and fulfillment of goals.

Key outcome measures for this role are:

• Work with across IBM business units, the IBM Partner Ecosystem, and the client's IT team, to co-develop and continuously optimize pro-forma architectures covering Digitalization of Operations, Open Banking, Omni-channel, Capital Markets, Core Banking, Core Insurance, Event Driven Architectures, and Advanced Data / AI.

• Gather and assess the current application and infrastructure solutions, inclusive of Partner Ecosystem Solutions, performing a gap analysis, and recommending the to-be application solution architecture.

• Represent deep expertise on modernization of mainframe legacy, transformation of mission critical applications needing re-architecture, as well as containerization/refactoring.

• Use your knowledge platform as a service offerings in the market, cloud application architecture and best practices, API management, Microservices, DevOps, Data Modernization and cloud integration suites to advise our clients on their hybrid cloud journey and multi-speed IT .

• You should have great breadth and depth of experience when it comes to modernizing legacy applications to hybrid cloud with the ability to work with a global team.

• Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and solutions to Financial Services challenges. Advise IBM FS Cloud Team on new partners that should be approached to be part of the Partner Ecosystem.

• As an IBM Financial Services Cloud Architect, you are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among executive level business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

• Encourages team members and groups to work together and takes responsibility for team building to optimize performance.

• Sets challenging but achievable targets for each architect on your team to match business metrics and performance standards.

• Mentor and develop team members.

• Travel will average 25% up to 50%

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 10+ years of IT experience

• Experience as a technical leader managing teams of no less than 5 people.

• Significant architectural experience in Banking, Financial Markets, or Insurance

• 3+ years of at-scale experience architecting and developing hybrid and public cloud application solutions leverage Java application development, APIs, Microservice Architectures and PaaS Architectures

• 3+ years of experience with at-scale Data Innovation and modernization for competitive advantages, inclusive of Advanced Analytics, Event Driven Architectures, AI and ML

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Significant practical knowledge of DevOps, DevSecOps, and Production best practices

• 3+ years of experience leading Cloud transformation journey in (strategy, design, application migration planning or implementation)

• Significant practical knowledge of DevOps, DevSecOps, and Production best practices

• 3+ years of experience leading Cloud transformation journey in (strategy, design, application migration planning or implementation)
