As part of a cross-trained, proactive recruitment team, will effectively develop and utilize recruitment strategies; manage prescribed recruitment territories; prioritize recruitment goals and complete projects as changing strategies dictate; effectively use data to assess strategy and priorities; and meet prescribed recruitment goals in assigned territories. This position will have responsibility for recruiting, interviewing and evaluating prospective students for Iona College. This includes meeting/interviewing prospective students; coordinating the admissions process; meeting with school and agency personnel; attending recruitment fairs and events; and actively managing a personal contact campaign via multiple mediums to assure exceptional service. The position requires evening and weekend work, flexible hours and travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute visits to high schools in assigned territory either in person or virtually.
  • Represent Iona at College Fairs.
  • Heavy day, night, and weekend travel 3-6 months per year.
  • Maintain professional relationship with School Counselors in assigned territory.
  • Maintain contact with prospective students from territory.
  • Read and review applications for assigned territory
  • Enter admission decisions for applications for territory and other markets when necessary
  • Present information sessions to prospective students and families about Iona College both on and off campus.
  • Gain a knowledge of admissions software CRM (Slate)
  • Attend recruitment events both on and off campus


Required Skills


Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced preferred. Valid driver’s license is necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to support Iona’s Catholic identity, tradition, and commitment to the moral and ethical development of all students.
  • High level of communication skills to express, both orally and in writing, the mission and recruiting goals of the office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • One to three years of proven experience in recruitment, sales or outreach in a fast-paced, goal-oriented operation.
  • The position requires evening and weekend work, flexible hours and travel.
