Devereux is hiring Seasonal Lifeguards to work Days and Weekends!
As a Lifeguard at Devereux’s Brandywine Programs, located in Glenmoore, PA, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused. This position will give you a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience within the mental health and the juvenile justice systems while providing a safe environment as a lifeguard. Our environment is fast paced, ever changing and offers a sense of personal satisfaction and self fulfillment while serving as a key member of a treatment team.

Devereux Brandywine Programs provides psychiatric residential treatment and education services for adolescent males who experience behavioral and psychiatric challenges, often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments.

Requirments: High School Diploma and at least 18 years old. One (1) year of human service experience working with children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
Current Red Cross Lifegueard Certification
Schedule: Part Time Seasonal role. Availability to include daytime and evening hours with weekend availability.
The IDEAL candidate will... Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, you must be able to complete required new hire orientation class, have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adolescents with special needs and possess a valid license.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.
