The Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults – from birth to age 21 – with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral and emotional disorders. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, and emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.
CIDDS services include two Approved Private Day schools, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, therapeutic foster care and a full-time residential program.
We are currently seeking a FT Medical Assistant to assist medical staff in the coordination of medical appointments and care of clients as well as in the daily functions of the department. Schedules appointments, verifies health care needs, coordinates and facilitates running of campus medical clinic under guidance of nursing personnel. Performs basic vital signs, EKG, hearing and vision screenings. Ensures that proper stock of drugs and medical supplies are maintained. Demonstrates ability to provide assistance to nurses and physicians in clinical encounter.

EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED required. Certified Medical Assistant or prior health care experience required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one (1) year experience as a certified nursing assistant or one (1) year experience as an office medical assistant preferred. Experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental and/or behavioral disabilities preferred. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Valid driver's license must be maintained.
