Job Summary

The Legal Intern’s responsibilities are related primarily to conducting legal research and administrative work that involves a broad range of duties including drafting agreements, preparing legal research memos, and proof reading and editing contracts. This position supports the Corporate Counsel to deliver value to the business by focusing on speed of delivery, pragmatic application of law and providing legal administrative support. This position is in our Melrose Park location.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform various administrative tasks including but not limited to copying, scanning, electronic/physical filing, messenger and mail services, scheduling, and court runs
  • Maintain, update, and organize physical and electronic case files
  • Actively seek departmental process improvements
  • Review legal invoices for accuracy and resolve invoice related issues accordingly
  • Prepare internal legal memos as directed
  • Draft legal/business letters related to claims or issues
  • Draft and review contracts while maintaining an updated and organized database management system
  • Update and revise employment manual and employment policies as needed
  • Draft any complaints or motions as needed in State/Federal court, to assist with all cases in litigation
  • Assist with corporate governance/compliance issues by filing with appropriate state agencies
  • Execute legal research and writing in multiple areas of law including, but not limited to, Contracts, Corporate, Compliance/Regulatory, Employment, Immigration, International Business, Insurance, Property, and Intellectual Property
  • Perform any other reasonable task requested by the Corporate Counsel

Minimum Requirements:

  • Prior legal experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to work independently, under general guidance
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional disposition
  • Highly organized with proven time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to handle the pressure of meeting tight deadlines and adapting to rapidly changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal court rules and e-filing procedures


Bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in Law school preferred
