To assure the technical objectives of the PAR Inventory Management system in Lawson. Monitors daily inventory for assigned PAR locations and all outlying clinics. This includes, but is not limited to, maintenance of inventory levels in the central inventory areas, and all designated PAR areas of all clinics. Ensures customer/departmental requests are picked and delivered in a prompt manner.
Interaction with a variety of employees inside or outside the organization. Communications can often difficult or stressful. Contact with others involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics. The job requires a high degree of interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a range of complicated problem situations. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others.
- Maintain PAR inventory control processes that result in aligning supply needs with inventory financial targets. Maintain appropriate PAR Inventory and on-hand supply levels, including management of min/max and reorder points. Manages physical inventories and cycle counts and PAR valuation reporting. Optimizes inventory levels for all warehouse stock items and PAR inventory items. Monitors daily critical metrics/benchmarks (i.e., inventory valuation, adjustments) reporting any identified variances to management/supervision. Coordinate with clinical staff all backorders and assist in the approval of substitute items for backorder supplies when required. Run the Lawson Killed Item Report to identify out of stock PAR items on a daily basis. Inventories to manage will increase from 2 to 15 designated inventories which will increase overall by 400%. Implement "LEAN Principles" for the Supply Chain to continuously improve and to reduce and eliminate waste. Identify the types of waste that can be eliminated across the supply chain to improve cycle time, reduce labor, and staff costs, and improve product quality and deliveries so the entire supply chain is more efficient and responsive to customer needs. Assist the Lead Inventory Management Specialist in eliminating non-value-added steps and waste in product storage processes such as receiving, put-away/storing, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, excess inventories which require additional space and reduce warehousing efficiency, and excess motion and handling.
- Maintains rapport with management and all clinical departments and agencies as well as outside agencies. Maintains the Lawson PAR Mobile Supply Chain Management (MSCM) for all identified PAR locations for the Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center and all 13 outlying clinics. Communicates on a continuous basis with various clinical staff in all 13 locations. Will travel periodically to outlying clinics to assess and adjust PAR inventories as needed. Will establish official PAR inventories in the Lawson Mobile Supply Chain Management system and print bar codes for all inventories for scanning.
- Prepare and distribute to management monthly on benchmark reports on all supply activities, and provide technical advice, resources, and assistance to all Departments on matters concerning PAR Inventory needs. Will run monthly reports to conduct a price/cost analysis on all medical supplies and report to the Lead Inventory Management Specialist. Will track and monitor inventory turnover rates, adjusted minimums, and maximums as well as recommendations for department process improvement. Will process all new inventory item requests, practices, and policy development.
- Will serve as backup periodically for the Lead Inventory Management Specialist which include but not limited to coordinating the technical objectives of Inventory Management and Warehouse Operations. This includes managing the stock in both the Sitka and Juneau Warehouses. The objective is to keep stock levels at sufficient quantities to be able to get supplies to all departments, and the 13 outlying clinics within SEARHC when needed. Will assist Lead Inventory Management Specialist in establishing forecasting methods, forecast current and future inventory and non-inventory supply requirements, and coordinate forecast utilization with consortium Departments, inventory, purchasing, sales representatives, vendors, and manufacturers. Keeps abreast of current forecasting market research and publications.
- Actively participates with the Lead Inventory Management Specialist on short-term and long-term planning as needed to develop proposals to meet operational and/or budgetary changes impaction to the Supply Chain Department and all of SEARHC.
Education:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and
- A combination of 4 years of related education and work experience in Purchasing and Inventory Control Systems in an inventory related setting is preferred.
- 1-2 years of computer experience required which include but not limited to use of Microsoft Excel, Word, e-mail, and handheld devices.
Experience:
- Experience using Lawson or like inventory control/PAR management solutions preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have some working knowledge of an accounting, purchasing, or inventory ERP computer systems.
- Make all additions, changes, and deletes of items to assigned Par MSCM units.
- Adjust reorder points and reorder quantities in Lawson System to ensure required items are available while maximizing inventory turns and reducing overall inventory valuation.
- Verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft application including, Word, Excel, and e-mail.
- Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities and direction from diverse team members including Lead Nurses and clinical staff.
- Ability to serve as a liaison between Supply Chain staff and clinical resources for all applicable inventory issues and concerns.
- Ability to coordinate supply transfers and issues with other departments or inventory locations as needed.
- Ability to process daily requisitions, Purchase Orders through the Lawson System for all inventory items maintained in assigned area.
- Physical Abilities: requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, stair climbing, pulling, and pushing. Will lift 35 pounds on a regular basis with occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, with pushing/pulling of carts up to 100 pounds or more.
