Newly Licensed LawyerOur law firm is seeking a newly licensed lawyer who is eager to make his or her mark in court. We are willing to mentor and train the right attorney who is interested in a career in a small, but fast-paced family law firm. Initial responsibilities include going to court, paralegal work, research, and assisting the senior partners and associates with administrative support. This is an opportunity for recent law school grads or junior attorneys who have a desire to go to court to gain experience in family law, estate planning/probate, real estate law, and other practice areas. $50,000 - $70,000 yearly+DOEResponsibilities:Keep client files organized and up to dateCreate legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and ordersAssist clients effectively by conducting initial consultations with prospective clients, analyzing the situation, and strategizing with the litigation team to decide on a proper course of actionDevelop clear workflows and systems to ensure a high level of client satisfactionCourt coverage for other litigation team members on family law, probate, and other civil mattersQualifications:A Juris Doctor degree and an active Illinois law licenseAble to make court appearances in McHenry or Lake County courthousesExcellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in stressful and emotional situationsTech-savvy (able to troubleshoot minor computer/printer/connection issues), proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook, and able to quickly learn new software applications (working knowledge of Smokeball is a plus)Community-minded and interested in networking and building relationships in and around McHenry CountyAbout Company
