Job Summary :
The Office of the General Counsel defends, protects, and advocates for Rush; identifies and mitigates issues, risks and opportunities; and, by providing legal counsel on a host of issues, resolves conflicts, solves problems, and helps realize goals for Rush. The Paralegal reports to the Senior Corporate & Regulatory Counsel, and works closely with that counsel as well as Rush's Insurance Counsel (and other members of the Office of Legal Affairs, as needed). The Paralegal must exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
- Transactions:Gather and collate information to help our Regulatory & Transactions counsel finalize transactions (pre-transaction due diligence) and resolve issues associated with such transactions (post-transaction).
- Insurance:Gather and collate information and generally support our Insurance Counsel to help that counsel secure insurance programs for Rush and complete insurance program renewals
- Contract review:Support Regulatory & Transaction Counsel in the review of various agreements, including but not limited to, vendor contracts, independent contractor agreements, purchase agreements, service agreements, and other agreements.
- Prepare standard letters and reports.
- Gather, organize, summarize, index, and maintain documents from various sources.
- Perform general corporate transactional support for Rush and its affiliated entities.
- Perform other similar duties and projects as assigned.
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree; a paralegal certificate or degree.
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point.
- Proficient in designing and producing high quality reports and presentations.
- Strong critical thinking, problem analysis and problem solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability and desire to function both collaboratively and independently, each within and in support of a cohesive and thoroughly integrated team.
- Approachable, positive, energetic and proactive nature, with excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Committed to accountability, process improvement, and process excellence.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the health care industry and its unique issues.
- Three years experience as a paralegal.
