What They Do: Our client is a market leader in the pharmacy software industry, creating pharmacy management technology solutions to better manage today’s busy and changing pharmacy, thereby improving efficiency and customer service, with the added benefit of cost savings.
We are looking for a dynamic Accounting Director to oversee all aspects of accounting and finance operations. This includes, accounting operations, treasury management, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Director will manage 1-2 direct reports, and coordinate activities with the company’s outsourced Finance as a Service organization. This is a highly visible, hands-on role in a fast growing and highly acquisitive organization, backed by a leading global private equity firm.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Accounting operations: manage day-to-day operations of AR (internal team), AP (outsourced) and payroll processes.
Revenue accounting: review new contracts and liaise with revenue operations, project management and support teams; stay current with nuances of ASC 606 accounting for software and SaaS.
Treasury management: administer bank accounts, credit facilities, acts as signing authority and review and approve banking transactions/payments.
Tax: with the support of tax advisors, oversee company tax compliance for federal, state and local taxes.
Mergers and acquisitions: oversee purchase acquisition accounting and drive post-merger integration activities within the finance and accounting tracks.
Team leadership: lead, manage and coach direct reports; support other department managers as financial advisor.
Financial planning and analysis: prepare rolling financial forecasts, annual budgets, variance analysis, internal management reporting and presentations.
Financial reporting: responsible for financial reporting; month end close, investor reporting, monthly reporting package, year-end, and audit.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA preferred.
7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in a dynamic fast-growing SaaS/software business.
2+ years of experience leading and managing direct reports.
Solid knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition for bundled software and SaaS arrangements.
Purchase accounting and post-merger integration experience.
PE/VC backed company experience preferred.
Big 4 or CPA preferred.
Proficient in MS Excel as applied to financial modeling for budgeting and forecasting.
Knowledge of Sage Intacct and BlackLine preferred.
The ability to foster collaboration across departments and functions to facilitate progress towards broader organizational goals.
Ability to occasionally travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Syosset, NY.
