Discovery and Motion Practice Associate Attorney (Full Time)
Firm: Van Wey, Metzler & Williams, PLLC
Location: Dallas, TX, in office
Compensation: $75,000-$100,000+ DOE
About the Discovery and Motion Practice Associate Attorney Position
We are looking for someone to work and grow with the firm. The associate attorney will be responsible for handling discovery and motion drafting for medical malpractice cases along with various types of complex personal injury cases.
Who We are Looking For
We are searching for a proactive, driven, forward thinking Associate Attorney. The Discovery and Motion Practice Associate Attorney's responsibilities include drafting and responding to discovery, handling discovery disputes, assisting with expert discovery, drafting motions and motion responses, legal research, and legal writing. During the process, you will be required to collaborate with a team on each case.
You must have experience drafting motions, arguing law and motion matters, and handling discovery. You should be an associate attorney with at least 1-5 years of personal injury litigation experience.

Discovery and Motion Practice Associate Attorney Responsibilities
- reviewing medical records
- conversing with medical experts
- draft motions and responses, discovery, legal briefs
- perform in depth legal research
- perform in depth discovery investigation
Discovery and Motion Practice Associate Attorney Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience handling civil litigation matters, specifically personal injury claims, medical malpractice a plus
- Approach problem solving proactively and have the ability to both work independently and collaborate with peers
- Motivated, reliable, and able to work within a professional firm environment
- Exceptional research and strong legal writing abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Capability to follow detailed instructions
- Candidates should have experience analyzing, researching, and drafting briefs, addressing sophisticated legal issues on complex litigation
- Must be able to work well in a team environment, have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, and a strong desire to develop and advance their legal career
- Must be currently licensed and reside in Texas
Associate Attorney Skills
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Perceptive and meticulous.
- Capacity to regulate and perform under stress.
- Familiarity with case law and legislation within and related to Personal Injury.
- Experience using firm software and case management programs, and office productivity (Office 365, Filevine, and Lead Docket).

Salary Range
- $75,000- $100,000 DOE + discretionary bonuses
