Title:
Senior Systems EngineerKBR is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to join our team supporting Department of Defense Research and Development initiatives critical to our NAVAIR customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support execution of advanced development research and development (R&D) programs.
Works with customers to develop new capabilities, define gaps, derive requirements, develop project task descriptions, specifications, integrated roadmaps, and detailed schedules.
Support and coordinates technical reviews, data analysis and reports, and monitor and report team and contract execution status/execution.
Supports the development of acquisition and technical documentation. Serve as the avionics systems engineering, sensor tracking, data fusion and fire control focal point for coordination of technical project status and task execution throughout design, engineering, integration, test, and program execution process.
Analyzes contractor proposals as permitted by law and regulation. Develop, execute, monitor, and report status on several assigned project task efforts including analysis of test data.
Serve as the systems engineer for project technical execution, coordination, risk management and communication of concerns and issues with program management and technical leadership.
Coordinates functions between government and contractor project leads and engineers along with the operational subject matter experts, warfighters, and military leaders involved in program planning and execution.
Support and provides insight to determine the effectiveness of project execution and recommend modifications to task processes for future project activities or design reviews.
Works with the Project Management and Task Lead(s) to develop out year planning for future capabilities, and provide input to roadmaps for analysis, risk reduction, development, and integration of advanced capabilities.
Significant (20%-30^%) travel is required for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical Engineering or related from an accredited college or university. Experience may NOT be substituted for education.
Candidate must have at least 10 years’ experience in Avionics Systems and/or Sensor Systems Engineering, Aviation Systems engineering and requirements development processes.
A current Top-Secret Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must work on-site. Remote work is not authorized for this role.
Must be able to travel as required.
